The singer shares her two sons, RZA and Riot, with partner A$AP Rocky
Rihanna is looking back at one of her son’s major milestones.
The “Love on the Brain” singer, 36, appeared in April’s cover story for Interview Magazine where she revealed her 23-month-old son RZA’s first word.
Asked what it was, Rihanna shared, “Hey.”
“I used to try to get his attention all the time, and I would say, ‘Hey, hey, hey.’
And one day he said it back to me in the same melody and I kept singing it and he kept following it over and over again.”
The musician shares her two sons — RZA and Riot, 8 months — with partner A$AP Rocky, 35.
Elsewhere in the interview, Rihanna said she’s open to trying for more kids, sharing that she hopes to one day have a daughter.
Asked by stylist Mel Ottenberg how many more kids she wants to have, Rihanna replied, “As many as God wants me to have.”
When asked if it would be more than two, the musician said, “I don’t know what God wants, but I would go for more than two. I would try for my girl. But of course if it’s another boy, it’s another boy.”
In her March interview with Vogue China, the mom of two shared why hair braiding is so important to her, explaining that braids have long been a way for her to channel self-expression and creative experimentation.
Since becoming a mom to her sons, the singer said the power of hair has become even more important.
“This is a form of protection by our ancestors…[it] makes us realize where we’ve come from,” the mom of two shared. “This is our lost history. I immediately wanted my children to have their hair braided…it’s something in our blood.”
