David Beckham is sweetly celebrating his son’s second wedding anniversary.
Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz Beckham celebrated their second year of matrimony on April 9,
and David, 48, shouted out his son and daughter-in-law in two adorable posts on his Instagram Stories.
Brooklyn, 24, and Nicola, 29, married in a ceremony at her family’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida, on April 9, 2022.
“Love you both,” David wrote in pink text over a photo of the couple as they soaked up the sun on a boat, adding two pink heart emojis for some flare.
“Happy anniversary you 2,” the retired soccer legend added in white text below, with two more color-coordinated hearts and tags for both Nicola, 29, and Brooklyn, 24.
In a second post on his Stories, David had some fun with Instagram’s gifs feature to add an animated “Happy Anniversary” gif
and two white heart emojis over a photo of Brooklyn and Nicola on the beach.
In the sweet photo, Brooklyn is giving his wife a piggyback ride on the sand as they both smile for the camera.
One day before their anniversary, PEOPLE caught up with Nicola at the Snapple® Solar Speakeasy event, where she spoke about her relationship with Brooklyn and revealed he may have a surprise in store for her on the big day.
“I feel like when you’re on a sleepover or a play date and it’s like you’re always like, ‘oh, can they sleep over again?’ And you just are on a never-ending sleepover play date,” Nicola said. “That’s how we feel. He really is my best friend. I feel like that.”
When asked if she had any plans to celebrate her anniversary with her husband, she shared, “[Brooklyn] told me he was going to surprise me … What the surprise is… maybe it’s another dog who knows! My love language is dogs. God no, we have five already.”
Nicola and Brooklyn, whose mom is former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, have been dating since October 2019. They took their relationship official in January 2020 with a post on Nicola’s Instagram. In July of that year, they announced their engagement.
This July, David will celebrate his and Victoria’s 25th wedding anniversary, which he told PEOPLE he’s really looking forward to earlier this year.
The milestone will come just two months after he also marks 25 years since Manchester United won the Treble in 1999.
“For me, personally, I am also looking forward to celebrating — it will be 25 years since Manchester United won the treble — including the Champions League of course! — and Victoria and I will also celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary,” Beckham told PEOPLE in February. “So lots to look forward to!”
