Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry meticulously planned the timing of baby number four.
In an interview with the Associated Press published April 17, the Golden State Warriors point guard, 36,
revealed that he and his actress wife, 35, made sure to keep the months of July and August clear so it wouldn’t affect his debut at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The couple, who are currently expecting their fourth baby together, are set to welcome their new addition in June.
“We thought about it ahead of time, which was nice,” Steph told the outlet. “If the timing didn’t work at a certain month in the fall,
we actually would have made a different decision knowing the Olympics were on the radar. So, thankfully, the Lord looked out for us and if everything goes to plan, I’ll be available this summer.”
Earlier this week, Steph was announced as part of Team USA’s roster for the men’s basketball tournament in the Summer Games.
His teammates also include LeBron James, Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, Bam Adebayo, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Haliburton, Jrue Holiday, Kawhi Leonard and Jayson Tatum.
Speaking about his desire to play in the Olympics, Steph continued to AP News, “I wanted to play in the last two that I was eligible for.”
“Watching guys that I’ve been competing against the last 10 years all have that experience win gold medals, watching three of my teammates (Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green) win gold medals, I knew I wanted to do that,” he added.
Ayesha announced in March that she and her husband were expecting once again.
In a cover story for Sweet July Magazine, the chef and author revealed that they “thought we were done” with having kids, but decided last year that “somebody was missing.”
Ayesha and Stephen are already the proud parents of daughters Riley Elizabeth, 11, and Ryan Carson, 8, and son Canon W. Jack, 5.
Last month, Ayesha opened up to PEOPLE about navigating some tough symptoms during her fourth pregnancy.
“I feel good,” the Irish Wish star said. “As the days go on, I feel a little better and better each day, I am lucky if I can get a whole meal down.”
