Stephen Curry was born as Wardell Stephen Curry II in Akron, Ohio on March 14, 1988. Curry has several connections to the NBA in terms of both family and geography – his father, Dell Curry, was a professional basketball player and played for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was also born in the same hospital as another prominent basketball player, Lebron James.

After having a successful collegiate basketball career, Curry was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in 2009. He has played his entire professional career with the same team, which is uncommon for athletes at this juncture, and has demonstrated a deep fidelity to both the team and his teammates over the years.

Curry has won several awards and distinctions during his professional basketball career, including three NBA Championships in 2015, 2017, and 2018. He also won the Most Valuable Player award in 2015 and 2016.
