Neville and Arsenal legend Wright replied to the deflating post with broken heart emojis.
And Becks left a heartfelt comment in a nice show of support at what’s always a depressing time for any animal lover.
He sympathised: “The last picture is amazing…Sorry for your loss Roy.”
Jet starred alongside Keano in a series of Adidas adverts last year when the no-nonsense hardman took a leaf out of Beckham’s book by becoming a fashion model.
But the Cork native had recently shared his concern about aging pal Jet’s health.
Speaking earlier this month, the dog-loving star said: “You have a routine and you have to look after them. Walk them.
“You have a routine with your dogs. I’ve always had dogs, going back when I was growing up in Ireland we always had dogs in the house.
“It gives you good security. It’s good for a bit of exercise. Love them to bits. I’ve got two dogs.
“But mine are getting a bit old now and a bit frail and that’s always the worry that something will happen to them.”
Canine companion Jet was a special guest on an episode of The Overlap in 2021 when Neville interviewed Keane while out for a walk.
Jet helped fill the void after the loss of Keane’s most famous pet Triggs, who passed away in 2012.
Triggs became a media sensation after Roy was pictured walking the golden labrador after flying home from Saipan following his controversial exit from Ireland’s training camp at the 2002 World Cup.
Following Triggs’ death, Keane admitted the loss was hard to deal with, saying: “You can say that again.
“She was about 13 and unless you’ve had a dog you will never understand.
“She was a great dog and went through a lot with me, ups and downs.
“You will have me crying in a minute so be careful.
“But she had a good life. She had a good innings, as they say.”
