Ben Affleck recently bought a $20.5 million home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, amid rumors of a split from Jennifer Lopez.
TMZ reported that he closed escrow on the property on July 24, her birthday.
Days later, a source exclusively told In Touch that the five-bedroom, six-bathroom house is “more his style” than the $61 million Beverly Hills abode he shared with J. Lo.
The pair publicly listed the mansion for sale for $68 million on July 11, although In Touch exclusively reported in May that Ben had already moved out of the home and into a $100,000 rental.
Now, Ben can settle into his new place, featuring a luxurious pool, a media room, a guest house and more.
Care for a Swim?
Ben’s new home features a gorgeous in-ground pool surrounded by ivy-covered walls. Near the pool is a covered patio with an outdoor fireplace.
Entertainment Space
The home also has multiple dens and living rooms, so it’s a perfect spot to host guests. And Ben might do just that, but not at his new place, a source exclusively told In Touch on July 25.
“Ben just wants to get away from it all and enjoy himself again and he wants to take his close friends with him,” the insider shared. “He’s talking about arranging a big blowout at his place in Georgia, which is pretty ironic since that’s where he and J. Lo had their big wedding.”
Horsing Around
The property also comes with several horse stables.
Cooking in Style
The kitchen features a gorgeous white marble island, a chef’s stove and a large pantry.
Diner’s Choice
Ben’s house has separate breakfast and dining areas for residents to choose where they eat.
Close to Family
Ben’s new abode sits on the border of the Pacific Palisades and Brentwood neighborhoods, which is where ex-wife Jennifer Garner lives with their three children, Violet, Fin and Samuel.
Plenty of Room to Sleep
The home’s five bedrooms will come in handy if Jennifer and Ben’s kids ever come to visit the Good Will Hunting star.
Spacious Bathrooms
The 6,247 square-foot house also has six bathrooms, including one with a round tub.
Simple Life
A source exclusively told In Touch that the Pacific Palisades home is “more Ben’s style” than his and J. Lo’s Beverly Hills house, which features 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms. “It’s more modest, way smaller and less expensive than the $61 million Beverly Hills mansion they purchased together and are trying to sell off,” the insider added.
Moving Out and Moving On
In Touch exclusively reported in May that Ben had moved out of his and J. Lo’s home and that the couple was “headed for a divorce.” Now that he’s found a more permanent place to settle down outside of his rental, a split seems even more imminent.
“If Ben buying a new home without Jennifer Lopez isn’t a sign of trouble in their marriage, then I don’t know what is,” a source exclusively told In Touch after his purchase. “He’s clearly moving on, but you can’t blame him for not going public about it.”
