Modelled by the likes of Bella Hadid and Johnny Depp.

In 2019, she became the world’s richest female musician; a result of her success with music and makeup

Along with becoming “the first black woman in charge of a major luxury fashion house”.

Outside of her work in the limelight, Rihanna has been growing her family with partner and rapper A$AP Rocky, also known as Rakim Mayers.

The pair announced they were expecting their first child in 2022, with a photoshoot in New York. 

Their child was born in May and their name, RZA, was shared with the public months later.

During this time, Rihanna has taken a break from music, with her last album release being her 2016 project Anti.

Things weren’t always sweet for the singer, as she also remembers tense situations with her father. 

“Fridays would be scary because he would come home drunk,” she told Rolling Stone in 2011.

“He’d get paid, and half of it would go toward alcohol. He’d walk in the door, and it was all eyes on him.”

Sharing the time when he’d slapped her for staying out longer than she was allowed.

“He slapped me so hard. I ran home with his handprint on me,” she revealed. “I couldn’t believe it. 

My mother saw my face, how traumatised I was, you know how, when you know you did something wrong, and you deserve to get beat? This was out of nowhere.”

Despite the tough times, Rihanna credits her father for making her independent and “toughening her up”.

“He taught me how to fish, how to swim, how to run, how to ride, he really toughened me up.”

RIhanna told Oprah in an interview that her family broke up due to her father’s addiction to crack.

“My family broke up because of his addiction.”

Ronald Fenty would buy drugs even when money and food in the house were low.

“Even as a toddler, I learned that my mum and dad would argue when there was foil paper in the ashtray,” Rihanna said

Referring to drug packaging or freebasing paraphernalia she told The Mirror in 2012.
