Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) has escaped his brief hostage situation and is already plotting revenge against his family on EastEnders. Fans of the BBC One soap know that Nish’s ex-wife Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and son Vinny (Shiv Jalota) have been scheming to take control of his business assets. This plan was set into motion when Nish sold the Bridge Street Café back to its former owner, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), for just £1, declaring that the rest of his assets would be donated to charity.
In an effort to regain his father’s trust, Vinny has been doing everything he can, even throwing Priya (Sophie Khan Levy) out of the family home after Nish revealed he had slept with her. This move seemed to impress Nish, leaving Priya homeless and desperate.
Priya decided to take matters into her own hands by luring Nish into the storeroom of the Minute Mart, where she handcuffed him to the pipes, demanding that he record a confession admitting he lied about their affair. Meanwhile, Vinny and Suki, unaware that Nish could hear them, discussed their plan in the next room.
In tonight’s episode, still tied up, Nish ignored Priya’s demand for a confession, stating that even if he agreed, he would claim it was made under duress and report her to the police for false imprisonment.
When Nish’s son Ravi (Aaron Thiara) noticed his father hadn’t returned home, he rushed to the shop with Vinny and found Nish being confronted by Priya. Later, Suki’s girlfriend Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) advised Suki to abandon her plan and focus on the future, unaware that Nish had already set his own plan into motion.
Nish told Vinny he was pleased with his recent business dealings but later informed Ravi that he was handing over the call center to him, leaving Vinny upset. However, Nish hinted that he had even bigger plans for his other son, and those plans seem to involve Ash Panesar (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha) and an old friend of Suki’s, Ranveer Gulati (Anil Goutam), who he has asked Ash to track down. What history does Ranveer have with the Panesars, and what threat does he pose?
