David Beckham fires the goalkeeper who bad-mouthed Messi (video)

In June, Dutch goalkeeper Nick Marsman, 32, told ESPN: “Personally, I think Inter Miami is not ready for Messi.

We only have a temporary stadium, everyone and the players can walk on the field, there is no gate. We also leave the field without security. I think they are not ready.”

This was the time when there was news that Messi had refused to renew his contract with PSG and would not go to Saudi Arabia,

while a return to his old club Barcelona was also unlikely, due to the financial difficulties of the Catalan team.

Messi finally chose to go to Inter Miami in a decision that caused many surprises.

Messi immediately shone when he arrived in the US, in just 4 matches for Inter Miami he scored 3 doubles, scored a total of 7 goals and had 1 assist.

The team, chaired and co-owned by former football star David Beckham, has also won all four matches thanks to Messi to advance to the quarterfinals of the Leagues Cup.

Before Messi, Inter Miami went through a series of 11 matches with only 3 draws and 8 losses.

Messi’s early successes have proven goalkeeper Nick Marsman’s criticism completely wrong. Not only does he play extremely well, Messi is also a magnet that attracts spectators to full stadiums, most recently the stadium of FC Dallas.

“Today, Inter Miami has exercised the right to buy out goalkeeper Nick Marsman’s contract in the MLS, and released the player from the team,” Inter Miami announced on August 7.

According to Marca (Spain): “This is the decision of Inter Miami President David Beckham, after evaluating the statements of goalkeeper Nick Marsman aimed at Messi, as completely inconsistent with the interests of the team and commercial franchises. In MLS, there are rules allowing clubs to cancel player contracts, if there are negative comments, affecting the commercial interests of the team”.
