Beyoncé has a knack for looking incredible no matter what – and her latest fashion statement was no excpetion.
Her sparkly, figure-hugging lemon yellow dress was paired with a clutch bag and glitzy earrings.
She was arm-in-arm with husband and rap legend Jay-Z , who opted for a classic, dapper tux.
The iconic couple were heading to the Grand Opening of Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.
Tyler is the first African-American actor/director/writer/producer to own a studio with no partners or corporate backing.
As an important cultural event, the night was star-studded with African-American figures.
Alongside Beyoncé and Jay-Z were the likes of Samuel L Jackson, Halle Berry, Viola Davis and Oprah Winfrey.
The Crazy In Love hit maker wrote alongside an Instagram post: “Happy Sunday. Congratulations to Tyler Perry on the opening of his studios.
“I could feel our ancestors’ presence. Surrounded by my heroes, I watched Denzel, Queen Oprah, Spike, Whoopi, Sir Poitier, Will, Halle, Dame Cicely and our angels John Singleton and Diahann Carroll honored.
“The Armand de Brignac crashed against each soundstage as fireworks lit up the sky. Generations of blood, sweat and tears, successes, excellence and brilliance.
“It makes me so proud, so full, I could not stop crying. Thank you my Virgo brother for so much love and passion put into every detail.
“My prayer today is that you will take it all in. You inspire me to dream even bigger.”
Others stars were just as inspired by the night.
Whoopi Goldberg questioned why it’s taken so long for an African-American to get to the position Tyler has.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter , she said: “Why did it take so long? Why was he the first to get it?
“Now he’s the man who makes the decisions, chooses the movies, and doesn’t have to ask anybody for s**t. There’s nothing better than that.
“He’s never on his knees. He gets what he needs because he provided it.”
Hollywood heavyweight Viola Davis, known for her groundbreaking performances in Fences and Widows, gushed: “Tonight is history.
“Tonight is not just entertainment and flamboyancy, it’s not just an excuse to get dressed up. It’s an excuse to celebrate a historic moment which is a black artist taking control of their artistic life and the vision that God has for their life.
“What’s happened with us historically is we’re waiting for people to get us. We’re waiting for people to throw us a crumb. That’s not what Tyler Perry has done.
“I want to be able to look back on this and say, ‘I was there.’”
