Ruth Langsford is said to be open to the idea of meeting someone new following her split from long-term husband Eamonn Holmes.
And reportedly “hasn’t ruled out things like dating apps”.
The couple confirmed their separation after 14 years of marriage through a spokesperson in May, a statement that took everyone by surprise.
Since then, the Loose Women star has remained quiet about their break up and has taken an extended hiatus from her TV duties.
Meanwhile, Eamonn has returned to his GB News show and expressed gratitude for the support from fans.
He has also reportedly been spending time with relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, 42, who is believed to have visited his home on several occasions.
In light of this, a source claimed that Ruth’s friends “have been rallying around” her and have been encouraging the star “to meet someone new”. They told Best Magazine: “Ruth has been completely shocked by it all. She doesn’t feel ready, if truth be told, but she has been left reeling after seeing Eamonn get close to a new woman.”
“She never thought in a million years there would be talk of either of them moving on after just publicly announcing their split, but her friends have said that if Eamonn is moving on with someone new, then there’s no reason why she shouldn’t as well.”, reports the Mirror.
While it’s unlikely that the mother-of-one will go public with a new romance anytime soon, friends reportedly have “a long list of men” they believe would put a smile back on her face when she is ready.
“They feel she could easily have a revenge romance tomorrow if she needs to,” the source added.
“Dating feels like a terrifying other world to Ruth, but her pals have promised to hold her hand through the process once she’s ready.”
They continued, explaining that while she is “excited about her romantic future”, she will “tread carefully”, especially with the added pressure of being in the spotlight.
The Mirror has reached out to representatives for Ruth and Eamonn for a statement.
The pair, who became household names on This Morning, tied the knot back in 2010 at Elvetham Hall in Hampshire and later welcomed their son Jack, now 22.
Eamonn also has three older children from his previous marriage to Gabrielle Holmes.
Mail Online reports that Ruth is set to open up about the separation when she returns to Loose Women next week.
A source informed the outlet: “The presenters on Loose Women have a history of opening up about their marriage splits on air and it’s a very supportive environment.
“Ruth knows the viewers are heavily invested in her breakup so she will be addressing her and Eamonn for the first time on the show.”
The source also claims that after discussing the split on air, Ruth intends to put the matter to rest and does not wish to comment further.
Following her recent split from husband Eamonn Holmes, Ruth Langsford is reportedly open to the idea of meeting someone new, including possibly exploring dating apps. Despite the shocking nature of their separation after 14 years of marriage, Ruth’s friends have been supportive and encouraging her to move forward.
While Eamonn has been seen spending time with relationship counselor Katie Alexander, Ruth has been taking a break from her TV duties. Although she may not be ready to publicly announce a new romance, her friends have a list of potential suitors ready for when she feels ready.
It’s clear that Ruth is being cautious about navigating the dating scene, especially given her public profile. However, she is excited about the possibility of finding love again and has a supportive group of friends to guide her through the process when she decides the time is right.
Despite the media attention surrounding their split, Ruth and Eamonn are expected to address the situation on an upcoming episode of Loose Women. Ruth plans to share her side of the story with viewers and then put the matter to rest, moving forward with her life.
