In April, Steph Curry announced his “Underrated” brand would include golf in an attempt to make the sport more accessible for underrepresented people across the world.
Curry and his brother, Seth, have both been wearing Underrated Golf hats at this week’s American Century Championship
And Seth told NSN Daily on Thursday about the organization’s mission.
“That’s a great, great youth golf tournament that we’re putting out, trying to help the underserved, underrated kids get an opportunity to play golf and and put their talent on display,” Seth Curry said.
“They might not have the finances or the opportunity to play a lot of events on the junior tour
So this is the first year we’re putting a lot of talent on the tour and hopefully grow it and make it bigger, better and give a lot more kids the opportunity to go to college, to play golf and hopefully turn into a profession.
So it’s a big passion of ours and it’s getting better and better.”
Steph Curry created the Underrated brand in 2019 with the goal of celebrating the underdog. He’s been an advocate for golf and women’s sports, funding programs at his alma mater Davidson. His goal with Underrated Golf to eventually make it a global mission.
