After more than two decades in the spotlight, Selena Gomez has reached billionaire status, at age 32, through a number of savvy business decisions and hard work.

This includes kickstarting her career as just a child actress on the children’s television series Barney & Friends, before emerging as a teen idol on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place.

Starting her career off so young proved to be an incredibly lucrative decision as she is, now, reported to have a net worth of $1.3 billion, according to the Bloomberg.

Despite being known primarily as a singer and actress, the publication reported that the majority of the Lose You

Love Me hitmaker’s wealth comes from her makeup brand, Rare Beauty, which she launched in 2020.

According to Time, Rare Beauty ‘is a top seller at Sephora and available in 36 countries’ and has only continue to rake in more money over the years.

‘After launching in 2020, annual sales grew 100% from 2021 to 2022, and 200% the following year; they hit $400 million for the 12 months ending in May,’ the outlet reported in May.

Her brand’s most popular product last year, a $23 liquid blush, brought in $70 million in sales. 

Some of her most profitable endorsement deals include her campaigns for ‘Puma, worth a reported $30 million, and Coach, a $10 million deal.’ 

As the third most followed person on Instagram, with more than 424 million followers, she can make an estimated $2.6 million per branded feed post on the app.

Additionally, she has made a fortune landing acting gigs on TV series, like Only Murders In The Building, which was just renewed for season five, brand partnerships and her music. 

Although she has gravitated more to acting over the past few years, Gomez has released three studio albums, two EP,s seven singles, four promotional singles and fourteen music videos in her solo career. 

While serving as the lead singer of the band Selena Gomez & the Scene, she and her band released three albums, Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010) and When the Sun Goes Down (2011), ‘which all reached the Top 10. and has sold over 6.7 million copies with combined sales in the United States,’ according to one of her fan pages.

The financial milestone makes her one of the youngest self-made billionaires in the country, alongside her best friend, Taylor Swift, who became a member of the ten-digit club last year. 

In addition to thriving professionally, Gomez has been open about being the ‘happiest’ she’s ever been amid her romance with music producer, Benny Blanco.

Fans even speculate the couple, who started quietly dating midway through 2023, are engaged after Gomez stepped out last month wearing a gold band on her ring finger. 

The Rare Beauty founder first sparked speculation that she was engaged to boyfriend, Benny Blanco, when she shared a selfie last month and hid her ring finger.

In May, Gomez revealed that she planned to adopt a child herself if she hadn’t met the right partner by age 35.

‘I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it,’ Selena said at the Time 100 Most Influential Companies event.

‘A lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it.

‘Then I came up with my plan, which was I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone,’ she said.

Last year, however, she met Blanco, who she described as the love of her life last month.

While appearing on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show earlier this year, Blanco called Gomez ‘the coolest, the nicest, [and] the sweetest.’

‘She’s truly just like my best friend … we laugh all f***ing day,’ she revealed.

When he was asked about having kids, Benny said: ‘That’s my next goal [to check] on the box. I have a lot of god kids, I’ve got a ton of nephews. I love being around kids.’

Howard then asked Benny when he was going to ask the Wizards of Waverly Place star to marry him.

‘When I look at her, I do say, I’m always just like, “I don’t know a world where it could be better than this,”‘ he gushed.

Later, Howard said he predicted marriage in their future, and Benny replied, ‘You and me both.’

When asked about his comments about marriage and children at the Time 100 Event, Gomez said: ‘He can’t lie to save his life. If he’s asked a question, he’ll answer it.’

‘I just cherish every moment with him. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that he’s not going anywhere any time soon.’

A source recently told ET: ‘They are excited at the idea of continuing to grow together and get closer.’

They also added that ‘Benny thinks Selena is so amazing,’ and she ‘loves that Benny wants the best for people and is protective of her.’

By the sounds of it, they also have the support of loved ones. ‘They make each other happy and their friends and family are thrilled for them,’ the insider stressed.

The Come And Get It singer went public with Blanco in December, revealing that they had been secretly dating for six months.

Previously, the Wolves songstress dated The Weeknd, Zedd, Nick Jonas, Taylor Lautner and was linked to a number of other stars, including Zayn Malik. 

She also had an on-and-off relationship with Justin Bieber that spanned eight years, before they called it quits in 2018.
