Luis Suarez has put his acting skills to the test in a Lionel Messi-themed advert that has left Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham in stitches.
The veteran Uruguayan striker has been reunited with his former Barcelona team-mate in Florida, with Manchester United
and England legend Beckham helping to put marquee deals in place. The pair are close friends and have been playing with a smile on their face in 2024.
Both are now preparing for Copa America duty, with Uruguay and Argentina respectively,
but Suarez has found time ahead of that tournament to star in a production that pokes fun at his relationship with eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi.
In the advert, Suarez is hassled by friends, neighbours and a tax driver looking for autographs and tickets to watch Messi in action.
The 37-year-old sees his patience pushed to breaking point – with everyone more concerned with his links to a famous colleague than what he can do – but he is able to calm down with an ice-cold beer.
Beckham is among those to have seen the funny side of the production, which once again includes a goat reference to Messi, and he will be hoping that Suarez and Messi rekindle that productive on-field partnership when returning to Chase Stadium after international duty.
