Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright are on the same page about their marriage needing to end.
“Jax is 100 percent on board with moving forward with the divorce,” a source exclusively tells Page Six Wednesday.
“He’s been checked out from the marriage for a long time now. He just wants to have an amicable co-parent relationship.”
Cartwright, 35, filed for divorce from Taylor, 45, after five years of marriage on Tuesday, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split in court docs obtained by Page Six.
Our insider says that while the dissolution of their marriage is “of course sad for them both because neither one of them envisioned that for themselves,” it was “evident that they were not a good match.”
“Their vicious cycles needed to stop for the sake of their son,” the source adds.
Cartwright also noted in the court docs that she is seeking sole legal and physical custody of her and Taylor’s 3-year-old son, Cruz, but is willing to grant the “Vanderpump Rules” alum visitation rights.
We’re told that the “Valley” star has maintained her distance from her estranged husband amid their split.
Cartwright moved out of the marital home early in their separation, which she first confirmed in February, and has not recently visited her ex despite his claims that he was trying to work on himself.
Taylor entered a mental health facility in July, with his rep telling us at the time, “Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast.
“He has made the decision to seek inpatient treatment. This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family.”
We’ve since learned that Taylor, whose real name is Jason Cauchi, has exited treatment but Cartwright is still protecting her peace.
“Brittany hasn’t seen Jax since he’s been out of treatment,” a source tells Page Six exclusively, adding that “she plans to have him visit with Cruz.”
Leading up to her filing for divorce, Cartwright was very vocal about the issues in her marriage.
She divulged on the season finale of “The Valley” the details of a blowout fight that led her to call it quits.
“He was going out to the bar and stuff, coming home and having these horrible hangovers that would make him mean as a f—king snake,” the reality star told her co-stars in the episode, which aired in June.
“Finally, after he’s already been screaming at me for hours… I packed me and Cruz up and we got the hell out of that house. I just kind of hit this point where I started noticing everything that he did to me.”
Cartwright was also candid about the fact that the couple barely had sex in the last year of their marriage.
In addition, the mom of one claimed to People in April that she “basically” did “everything for the household,” which included being the primary caretaker of their son.
Since declaring her independence, Cartwright has gushed on social media that she’s gotten her “sparkle back” and hit the town with one of her good friends, co-star Zack Wickham, for a night out.
The Bravo star was also spotted ordering booze to her residence prior to her fun outing.
A source told People Cartwright did not take her decision to file “lightly” but she “feels adamant that it was the right one.”
Meanwhile, Taylor has already hit the social scene as well. He was spotted with co-star Jesse Lally at Craig’s in West Hollywood, Calif., on Tuesday for a guys’ night out.
Reps for the former couple did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
