Recently Nike lost Jason Day after seven years of partnership, and Adidas has been hit with the same affliction by losing one of its ambassadors.
As the 2024 season starts, the golfers are revamping their brand deals, and it seems,
it will not only be Tiger Woods without his iconic swoosh but Xander Schauffele will also be appearing without his three stripes.
In a piece of astonishing news, Schauffele has been seen ditching the Adidas merchandise before he plays at 2024 The Sentry.
Has the American golfer abandoned Adidas and if it’s true, then which brand will he be sporting now?
Are Xander Schauffele and Adidas parting ways?
Xander Schauffele debuted in 2015 and became a part of Adidas. After winning the Rookie of the Year Award and the TOUR Championship in 2017, the 7-time PGA Tour champion re-signed with the brand for a multi-year contract. The deal was reported to be $10 million and was the highest active deal of Adidas in 2022.
The deal sponsored Schauffele’s apparel, footwear, and headgear. The last time he was seen playing at the 2023 ZOZO Championship in Japan, the 30-year-old was sporting the three stripes. However, after two months, the Cal native is wearing a different brand before he tees it up at The Sentry.
Before the official round begins, Schauffele has reached the Plantation Course in Kapalua. The 30-year-old golfer was hosting a driving range clinic for the juniors present and was clicked with one. The photo was shared by Xander Schauffele Legion and one fan noticed the logo change on Schauffele’s clothes, which fueled the rumors of a new sponsor.
The pictures point towards the supposed end of a nine-year-long partnership between Adidas and Schauffele. It seems that it will be the first time since his debut that the 7-time PGA Tour will not be wearing Adidas and might sport the brand, Descente.
