Cardi B’s divorce filing took a new turn this week when her estranged husband Offset appeared to respond to it.

The 31-year-old WAP rapper was reported on Thursday to have filed the day before to divorce the 32-year-old Migos rapper.

But in response to an Instagram post reporting the filing, Offset responded in an unusual manner — by liking the post from his public account.

The seemingly nonchalant response was particularly unusual considering that Cardi indicated in her divorce filing that he is the father of her unborn third child, according to TMZ.

Cardi confirmed the child’s paternity, revealed her custody preferences, and is seeking support from her soon-to-be ex-husband.

Offset’s alleged Instagram like was on a post from the account for The Neighborhood Talk that announced the news, along with a quote from a source for Page Six.

Shortly after its initial post, the account shared a screenshot appearing to show that Offset — born Kiari Kendrell Cephus — had liked the post.

So far, the Instagram double tap is the extent of his communication regarding Cardi’s divorce filing.

However, he did post an Instagram Stories video of himself on Thursday that showed him lying in the backseat of a moving vehicle and lip syncing to an unreleased rap song in which the rapper says he’s ‘single’ and complains that ‘this tension is old,’ via Page Six.

However, it’s unclear if the tune he was lip syncing to was one of his own. 

In her divorce documents, Cardi has reportedly indicated that Offset is the father of her upcoming baby by saying that they are expecting their third child together, according to TMZ.

It was previously reported that she is requesting primary custody of their children: daughter Kulture, five; and son Wave, two.

The publication also notes that a prenuptial agreement isn’t mentioned in the document, but that doesn’t rule out the possibility that one may exist.

Cardi is also asking for all of the couple personal property to be apportioned equitably.

She filed for divorce on grounds of irreconcilable differences.

The filing comes after Offset was beset by cheating rumors.

On Thursday, he denied in an Instagram Live session that he was out ‘publicly cheating’ after he was spotted sitting next to a woman who goes by PrettyRedz at a casino.

‘People really need to do the research… I’m at a public place gambling at a casino with a married 8 month pregnant woman. [What the f***] I look like being outside publicly cheating [shaking my head!’ he said. 

However, his denial caused more confusion, as his reference to the pregnant woman led viewers to mistakenly thinking he was referring to his pregnant wife Cardi, which her representative denied to TMZ on Wednesday.

Offset was off by a month, as PrettyRedz is reportedly seven months pregnant with a child from her marriage to the late Kyng Rocky, who died on June 18.

Rather than splitting due to cheating, a source claimed to Page Six that Cardi — real name: Belcalis Marlenis Cephus, née Almánzar — and Offset had simply ‘grown apart’ over time, following multiple earlier splits and relationship turmoil. 

‘That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else,’ the source added. ‘This is something she wants to do.’

A source told PEOPLE on Friday that Cardi’s decision to divorce Offset ‘wasn’t an easy’ one for for her.

‘She has two kids already, is pregnant and is also a working mom. She’d love to have a great marriage too, but since it’s more of a distraction than support, she needs to end it,’ they explained.

They noted the split had been ‘a long time coming.’

‘It’s not just one issue. She’s matured a lot. She knows exactly what she wants her life to look like. She’s super focused on her kids and work,’ the insider said.

Cardi is said to ‘incredibly strong and driven’ as she prepares to navigate the split.

‘As a mom, she expects a partner that contributes fully and that puts the family first. This just wasn’t happening,’ PEOPLE’s source explained. 

‘In general, he just doesn’t support her like a husband should. She needs good vibes and positive energy only in her life.’ 

Despite the split, Cardi looked over the moon in lovely photos of herself caressing her baby bump that she posted on Thursday to announce her pregnancy. 

‘With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power!’ she wrote without mentioning or even tagging her estranged husband. 

‘Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion!’ Cardi continued. ‘I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!’

In addition to his soon-to-be three children with Cardi, Offset has three older children from previous relationships. 

He shares his 14-year-old son Jordan Cephus with Oriel Jamie, his nine-year-old son Kody Cephus with Justine Watson and his nine-year-old daughter Kalea Mari Cephus with Shya L’amour.
