It seems like Angelina Jolie has been shooting her latest film in Venice for an eternity – and we’ve been with her every inch of the way.
But as she shot her latest scenes for The Tourist, Brad Pitt’s other half conjured up her most glamorous look yet, which traced a line back to Hollywood stars of yore.
Angelina, 34, looked beautifully elegant in a long, black, off-the-shoulder dress – complete with bustle – velvet
Elbow-length gloves and a sparkling neclace that wouldn’t have looked out of place on Sophia Loren.
The Edwardian-style gown complimented her posture, giving her an air of grace and style, something she achieves on the red carpet
But makes a nice change from the casual attire she sports when she’s being Mummy.
The actress has been filming The Tourist, in which she stars alongside Johnny Depp and is due for release in 2011, since February.
They started shooting in Paris and made their way to Venice in March and have been there ever since.
Written by Gosford Park author Julian Fellowes, the film tells the story of Frank, played by Depp, 46, an American tourist who visits Italy to mend a broken heart.
Jolie’s character Elise, deliberately crosses his path and against the breathtaking backdrop of Venice, Frank pursues a potential romance but soon finds himself the pursued as he and Elise are caught in a whirlwind of intrigue and danger.
Angelina has been joined in Venice by actor partner Brad Pitt, 46, and their brood of six children, who have been living in the city with her.
Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, Zahara, 5, Shiloh, 3 and twins Knox and Vivienne, 20 months have no doubt been enjoying their stay as they get to eat lots of gelato and be ferried around on gondolas.
And while Mummy was busy filming, four of the Pitt/Jolie offspring were having a whale of a time in a local park with Daddy.
Brad took Maddox, Zahara, Pax and Shiloh to the San Thoma’s Garden where they ran about in the playground.
Speaking about her children to Entertainment Weekly recently, Angelina said that having her kids has made her want to do dangerous stunts on film to impress them.
She said: ‘The funny thing about having children is that now I am twice as motivated to do a cool stunt because my kids will like it.’
And she added that she would love to work with Brad again, after the met while filming Mr & Mrs Smith back in 2005.
She said they were on the hunt for the ‘right’ movie and added: ‘I love working with him. He’s my favorite actor to work with … The only complicated thing is to find the right project.
