Ruth Langsford shocked the Loose Women panel when she revealed what her husband, Eamonn Holmes, did when he wanted to have sex.
The presenter, 64, made the saucy comments before the sad news broke of the couple’s split today.
In a shock statement made by the couple’s representative it was confirmed the pair have called time on their 14-year marriage and are heading for the divorce courts.
However, in happier times, Ruth, who shares son, Jack, 22, with Eamonn, 64, opened up about the couple’s private life on the ITV show, leaving the audience gob-smacked.
While her fellow panellists – Franke Bridge, Carol McGiffin, and Kelle Bryan – all agreed a sex ban wouldn’t work in their relationships.
Ruth admitted there is one thing Eamonn would do to ensure he gets sex.
She said: “You can have all the compliments and the flowers but then, if Eamonn comes home and has used my car and he goes, “Filled the petrol up and did your water bottle,” I’m like, ‘Get upstairs right now’”.
As the studio audience burst into fits of laughter, Ruth continued: “I hate doing it. Literally, I’ll go round with my petrol light on red, the water bottle empty, smeared [windscreen], I’m like, ‘Oh I can’t stop and do that,’ so he’ll do it for me and he knows, he knows.” She added with a smirk: “Everyone’s got their little trick.”
Sadly, for the couple, it looks their private life has come to and end after months of speculation surrounding their relationship. After a series of rows, coupled with the fact they hadn’t been seen together for months, many wondered if Ruth and Eamonn had secretly split.
Speaking about their separation, which was confirmed today, a source said: “It’s a very sorry tale. They are both so loved by the British public, they won over so many people on This Morning which they hosted for more than a decade.” They added: “They were as close to Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan as you could get,” reports MailOnline. Meanwhile, a pal of the pair told The Sun how the couple drifted apart in recent months as their work commitments “took them in different directions”.
Eamonn and Ruth haven’t appeared in each other’s Instagram photos since July 2022. They still spoke about each other in interviews and on their respective shows, Good Morning Britain and Loose Women, however their social media accounts told a different story.
In a poignant post, Ruth last shared a snap of the pair on their anniversary two years ago as she captioned the post: “Happy Anniversary my love @eamonnholme Loved you then Love you still Always have Always will.”
It seems like Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have decided to go their separate ways after 14 years of marriage. The shocking revelation came after months of speculation and rumors about their relationship.
Despite their split, Ruth once shared some saucy details about their private life on Loose Women. She revealed that Eamonn always knew how to get her in the mood – by simply filling up her car with petrol and taking care of little things like refilling her water bottle. It’s the little gestures that count, right?
Although they haven’t been seen together in public for months and have drifted apart due to work commitments, Ruth and Eamonn were once a beloved couple who won over audiences during their time on This Morning.
It’s always sad to see a couple part ways, especially one that was as close as Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan. The news of their split may have surprised many, but sometimes things just don’t work out as planned.
Despite the challenges they faced in their relationship, Ruth and Eamonn always spoke highly of each other in interviews and on their TV shows. It just goes to show that even though things may not work out in the end, there can still be love and respect between two people.
As we say goodbye to Ruth and Eamonn’s relationship, we can only hope that they find happiness and fulfillment in their separate paths. And who knows, maybe one day they’ll find their way back to each other.
